David Ormesher
MBChB MPharm (Hons) FRCS
David Ormesher is a consultant vascular surgeon based at the East Lancashire Healthcare Trust. He covers the whole spectrum of venous and arterial disease in his NHS practice and has a weekly operating list treating patients with varicose veins.
He is prominent in the teaching of future consultant vascular surgeons and is part of the faculty for regional and national teaching events for both venous and arterial surgery.
David undertook a 2-year National Institute for Health research project as part of his training and is currently active in the research of venous disease, being a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland Venous Specialist Interest Group, as well as being a Principal Investigator for THRIVE, which looks to reduce DVT in patients undergoing vein surgery.
David trained in the North West and spent the majority of his registrar years at The Royal Liverpool Hospital and Manchester Foundation Trust, where he was the first Chief Registrar for Surgery.
He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons England, a member of The Royal Society of Medicine Venous Forum and a member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
